Weidian vs Taobao vs 1688: where reps are sold

Almost every rep find comes from one of three Chinese marketplaces. They work differently, and knowing which is which helps you read links and pick sellers.

Weidian

Weidian is a platform of small independent shops, a bit like a storefront builder. Most well-known rep sellers run a Weidian shop. Links look like weidian.com/item.html?itemID=…. Weidian has no foreign checkout, so you order through an agent.

Taobao

Taobao is China's giant consumer marketplace with millions of shops. Many reps are listed there under vague names, and listings come and go as shops get taken down. Links look like item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=…. Taobao's search is huge, which makes a curated spreadsheet even more useful.

1688

1688 is Alibaba's wholesale marketplace for Chinese buyers. Prices are factory-level, minimum order quantities are sometimes higher, and listings often show the bare product without branding. Links look like detail.1688.com/offer/….html. Good for basics, accessories and electronics.

Which is best?

There isn't one. Established rep sellers mostly live on Weidian, budget and unbranded items are often cheapest on 1688, and Taobao sits in between with the widest range. What matters is the listing: check its QC photos, whatever the marketplace.
